The sand mode is designed to accommodate terrains that involve deep snow or sand, and Slippery mode optimizes gear shifting in low-traction environments.

As for the two additional G.O.A.T. drive modes that are available on certain Bronco Sport models, the Mud/Ruts mode engages 4×4 lock to accommodate muddy terrains and terrains with deep ruts and the Rock Crawl mode adjusts the throttle and transmission response of the Bronco Sport in order to maximize torque in the low range and improve this compact SUV’s crawling ability at low speeds.
